This arrangement was commissioned by the Cottontown Chorus as the closer for their Mary Poppins show set, building on their contest numbers from the same musical. The song presents a simple metaphor of a soaring kite as a way to get your spirits likewise aloft, and clothes it in a tune that cannot help but cheer you up. Once you get this song in your head, it is virtually impossible to stop singing it.
