Pink/Dance the Night Medley

This medley of two songs from the Barbie movie was commissioned as a barbesrhop contest piece for an SATB chorus. The altos mostly take the role of barbershop lead, with a couple of brief cameos from the tenors - and a classic stonking bass melody in the reprise. The opening song is full of shiny, plasticky joy, while the second adds a darker, more emotionally complex tone to the picture, which in turn brings a degree of poignancy to the reprise: the joy is no longer so simplistic.
