Against All Odds

This arrangement takes Phil Collins' classic rock ballad and reimagines it as a barbershop contest ballad. The raising of emotional temperature that the original achieves through the throb of the beat is achieved here by richer and, in places, more surprising harmonies. It needs a free, conversational delivery that privileges the ebb and flow of the lyric over metrical pulse.
