A Million Dreams

This ballad from The Greatest Showman found popularity far beyond the context of the original movie, as it captures a sense of hope an aspiration that resonates with many of life's circumstances.

The arrangement picks up a number of key motifs from the original orchestration, and also takes inspiration from the layered extended harmonies in the verses, before coming together into homophonic textures to make the central statements of the choruses. The bass carries the melody for significant portions of the song, challenging the leads to take on roles of accompaniment and/or counter-melody.
